How Dettol HandWash Challenge is helping Nigerians stay safe amid rising cases of COVID-19
As part of its commitment to create more awareness on the importance of handwashing amid the spread of the COVID-19 and other diseases, Nigeria’s leading hygiene brand – Dettol, launched the Dettol Handwash Challenge on April 20, 2020. Since its launch, more than 500 entries have been received across all social media platforms.
Because of the way germs spread, health experts have advised that regular hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is the first step in preventing the spread of illness-causing germs.
With the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the world, it becomes more important to imbibe the cutlture of hand washing and practise it as often as possible, this is why Dettol has embarked on a massive campaign on hand washing to help people stay safe.
In the past three weeks, four lucky winners have emerged in the Dettol Handwash Challenge, and to keep up the momentum, a weekly cash prize of N100,000 was recently introduced to encourage more participation in the Challenge.
On Friday June 5, 2020, Dettol extended the Dettol Handwash Challenge for two more weeks to give more people the opportunity to participate.
So far, some popular social media influencers like Broda Shaggi, Laura Ikeji, Crase Clown, and several others have joined the Handwash Challenge to prove that handwashing can be fun too.
