Happening NOW: Police rain water on Shiite protesters in Abuja
Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) are protesting in Abuja against the continued detention of their leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky by the Nigerian government.
But police would have none of it.

IMN is a Shia-Muslim sect.
IMN is based in Zaria, Kaduna State. The government has banned the group over alleged “terrorist” activities.
IMN is not the only Shia-Muslim group in Nigeria. The others, the government said, were free to gather as long as they followed Nigerian law.
Critics, however, say the continued detention of Zakzaky without trial is a violation of his human rights. A court had ordered the government to try or free the Shiite leader. But the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government is apparently not all ears.
