Gunmen open fire on a house, kill baby girl
A baby girl was hit, Tuesday night, as one or more gunmen opened fire on a house in Compton, Los Angeles.
The one-year-old had just celebrated her birthday last week. She was struck in the head as she lay in her crib in her family’s resident.
The assailant(s) approached the home on foot about 7:00pm and opened fire on several people nearby. At least one of the rounds struck the girl, Cmdr. Rod Kush, head, L.A County sheriffs Major Crimes Bureau said.
Police found the baby wounded on the scene and took her to hospital in a patrol car. There, she was pronounced dead.
It is not yet clear if the baby was related to the people the gunmen were targeting..
