Gunmen abduct Lagos monarch, shoots wife, kills guard
Gunmen suspected to be militants have abducted Oba Yushau Goriola Oseni, the Oniba of Ibaland, Saturday night.
The gunmen reportedly killed a guard and shot the monarch’s wife before making away with Oba Oseni.
Palace sources say the gunmen, numbering 16, stormed the palace around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
They reportedly escaped with the traditional ruler through the waterways.
The police are yet to comment on the development.
Iba is in the Badagry area of Lagos where the state governor spent a couple of days during the past week.
