Gov Adeleke Seeks Partnership With Works Ministry on Osun Road Rehabilitation
Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, is looking to partner with the Federal Ministry of Works on a number of federal government roads his administration rehabilitated.
This is according to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, in the state capital of Osogbo on Friday.
Adeleke paid a visit to the Minister of Works, Mr. Dave Umahi, in Abuja on Friday and sought its collaboration on the projects.
While calling on the intervention of the federal government, he explained that his administration had embarked on several infrastructure projects running into billions of naira.
The statement discloses that Umahi was briefed on these projects which includes flyovers, dualisation of roads, and major roads construction across the state.
“The governor noted that his administration has constructed over 150 kilometres of roads since he assumed office, including 1.5 kilometres per local government in the state.
“While commending the minister for his bold approach in the road sector, the governor informed the minister about some federal roads his administration has worked on, seeking a favourable rapport between the state and the federal government in the road sector,” the statement read in part.
The Minister, in turn, assured the Governor of the Ministry’s readiness to partner of these projects.
Umahi also noted the contributions of Adeleke’s administration in the road sector, while hailing the Governor.
