Goodluck Jonathan hails Hillary Clinton, says it takes “great self sacrifice” to concede defeat
Conceding defeat after an election is a “great self sacrifice”, according to former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
In extending his congratulatory message to Donald Trump on the just concluded election in America, GEJ hailed vanquished presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton for accepting her defeat in good fate.
He likened her concession to his own “heroic” gesture as he wrote through his Twitter handle, “I congratulate President-elect Donald Trump. I also salute Mrs Clinton for conceding. Having done this, I know it takes great self sacrifice.”

Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election to President Muhammadu Buhari, and he has been widely hailed as a “hero” for his “selfless” gesture of conceding defeat.
