Ghana offers to help Liberia boost electricity supply

Ghana has agreed to give technical support to Liberia in the power sector during Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s one day official visit to Ghana on Friday.

Ghanaian President Mahama has agreed to help Liberia overcome the challenges it has in power distribution with the help of Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to assist with technical support and training both in hydro and thermal electricity since it has experience in that area, Ghana Web reports.

President Mahama also mentioned how Volta River Authority (VRA) helped restore power to Monrovia after the Liberian civil war.

Ghana is pinning on VRA, GRIDCo and other companies in the power generation and distribution sector that have vast experience in the area to assist Liberia.
