Gaza Health Ministry: 60 Dead and 343 Injured in 24 Hours
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has issued a dire warning: many victims of Israel’s latest airstrikes remain trapped beneath rubble, with ambulance and Civil Defence teams unable to reach them amid ongoing attacks.
In the past 24 hours alone, at least 60 people have been killed and 343 injured, the ministry confirmed. This grim toll adds to a staggering total since the conflict escalated on October 7, 2023, with the overall death count now standing at 62,064 and more than 156,000 injured.
Since Israel unilaterally ended the ceasefire on March 18, the ministry reports that 10,518 people have lost their lives and 44,532 have been wounded, marking a sharp intensification in hostilities.
Tragically, among those killed in the latest wave of violence were 31 individuals who were seeking humanitarian aid, with nearly 200 others injured while trying to access assistance. Since the war began, nearly 2,000 people have died and close to 15,000 have been wounded while attempting to obtain vital humanitarian support.
The health ministry also revealed the devastating toll of starvation and malnutrition, reporting three new deaths in 24 hours bringing the total to 266, including 112 children.
