Gaza Ceasefire Wouldn’t Have Happened Without Me – Donald Trump
As Israel’s security cabinet prepares to meet on Friday to finalize a critical ceasefire deal with Hamas, President-elect Donald Trump is claiming credit for helping to bring the negotiations to the brink of success. The ceasefire agreement, which includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, could be implemented as early as Sunday—just two days before Trump’s second presidential inauguration.
US President-elect Donald Trump has asserted that the ceasefire agreement would not have been possible without pressure from his administration. Trump, who will take office on January 20, credited his team—including Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff—for driving the negotiations forward. he made this statement while Speaking to the Dan Bongino Show on Thursday
“If we weren’t involved in this deal, the deal would’ve never happened,” Trump said, adding, “We changed the course of it, and we changed it fast. And frankly, it better be done before I take the oath of office.”

The deal, which marks a big step toward a potential end to the war, awaits approval from Israel’s security cabinet. If finalized, the ceasefire could pave the way for further talks on a permanent resolution to the conflict.
In the same interview, Trump criticized outgoing President Joe Biden for claiming credit for the deal, calling him “ungracious” and asserting, “He didn’t do anything! If I didn’t do this, if we didn’t get involved, the hostages would never be out.”
Biden, who had previously proposed a similar ceasefire agreement in May, dismissed Trump’s remarks in an interview with MSNBC, stating that he had not engaged in recent discussions with the incoming administration on the negotiations.
The ceasefire proposal, as it stands, would implement an initial 42-day pause in hostilities, during which 33 hostages would be released and Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza’s population centers. A second phase could potentially bring a permanent resolution to the war, according to Biden’s office.
