Ganduje summoned to appear before panel over bribery allegations
Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, will finally answer to allegations of bribery levelled against him.
Several clips showing Ganduje allegedly receiving bribe from contractors in the state have been released by journalist Jafaar Jafaar.
The office of the governor initially dismissed the clips as “cloned.”
Ganduje is, however, expected to make an appearance before a seven-man panel instituted by the state House of Assembly on Friday, November 2.
The committee, in a letter received by the governor’s office on Wednesday, requested that the governor submits a written statement on or before Friday.
Ganduje, the committee says, may choose to appear with his legal representatives at the hearing scheduled for 10 am.
Jafar had made an appearance before the panel last week, after he was summoned to defend the authenticity of the videos.
