FRSC commander gives emergency haircut to “disobedient” female officers
A Nigerian road safety sector commander, Andrew A. Kumapayi, visited a unit of the agency on Monday to do something remarkable.
He was there to inspect hair, uniform and fingernails.

So he commanded the women to file out.

He separated the “goats” from the “sheep” like God should do on Judgement Day.

And gave emergency haircut to the “goats”.

For real…

Apparently, FRSC policy doesn’t support the kind of hair the females wore. The officers were “disobedient to the code”.
Staff of RS6HQ, Port-Harcourt & RS6.1, Rivers State can testify.
So can these photos the unit posted online today.

Newsroom contacted FRSC for comments on this story. We’ll let you know when they get back to us. We have been unable to lay our hands on the particular FRSC dress code that stipulates this kind of punishment.
FRSC has, however, recalled the commander as part of investigation into the matter.
Some have condemned the act as another example of discrimination against women.
this is just wrong, shouldn't women have right in the work place? I find this #shameful @julietkego @teebizy @Funmilola @abikedabiri pic.twitter.com/Zd8f4RBHeZ

If @FRSCNigeria laws doesnt give women freedom of being themselves…then the law is discriminatory. #LetGirlsBeGirls #LetWomenBeWomen

They ought to simply pass instructions on them as to correct uniform hair style or dress code and allow them change their hair themselves

Exactly! There should be a protocol/process for formal warning or to communicate consequences of whatever hair law(which I don't agree with)

How dare these men violate and disrespect these officials in this manner, whether in private or public? Besides, sure they tied their hair

I bet those ladies are from poor families.

Some praised FRSC.

Which right in work place? Women just want to do anything and be allowed because they are ‘women’. Should there be no order in work place because they are women. So if a female doctor keeps long nails to work she should be allowed to be because she is a ‘ woman’. It is improper to keep that huge mass of weavon on the head in any organisation at all let alone paramilitary.
The action is a good one but should not be publicized because this is departmental discipline which can not apply to all organizations. Women are also part of the personnel that must obey the rules and regulations of any organisation. Why the talk of discrimination
That is very disgraceful of the FRSC, these are grown up women with families of their own and what they have done, is against their human right and it’s very demeaning.
They have no right to physically tamper with their hair and should have other ways of stipulating their expected dress code.
It’s not acceptable and should not be encouraged. These women left their homes to work, only to return with their hair chopped off. What an utter nonsense!
The Federal government and FRSC female straffs should really be [protesting over this.
They are not in Secondary school and are employees. You can take disciplinary action, but not physically touching another man’s wife’s hair, in the name of a job.
How would the officer doing this feel, if some other male, where to do that to their own wives?
Nigeraians take a lot of laws into their own hands, because we live in a very sexist communities and i am very angry about this as a woman and i am currently looking into what i can do personally, to ensure that no other female staff from FRSC, is treated like that again.
Absurdity,Shame,Barbarism, Inanity etc!
The Zooness of Nigeria has been displayed in the most awkward manner .
” A thief is never as ashamed as his father”.
Which section of the law permits the FRSC whatever to cut openly the hairs of female staffers?
This is absolute ULTRA VIRES!
Those women should drag this Baboon to court inorder to forestall further abuse and
impunity.
You are a disgrace to yourself and the zoo called Nigeria!
