Fire guts Singa Market in Kano, property worth millions of naira destroyed
Fire broke out, Thursday morning, at the popular Singa Market in Kano destroying property millions of naira.
“We are yet to ascertain the actual number of shops destroyed as we are still battling to put out the inferno,” Alhaji Balarabe Kabara, State Director of Fire Service, said confirming the incident.
“We cannot give you the number of shops affected but the fire destroyed many shops,” he said.
Security has been beefed up around the market as fire fighters keep battling the fire.
An eye witness told ThisDay that the fire started around 4:15a.m.
