FCTA Seals Access Bank, Total Station Over Unpaid Ground Rent
In a bold enforcement move, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has sealed several buildings across Abuja for allegedly defaulting on ground rent payments.
Among the high-profile establishments affected are an Access Bank branch located within the bustling Wuse Market and a Total petrol station in the same area.
The operation, carried out by officials of the FCTA, is part of an ongoing effort to recover outstanding dues from property owners and businesses operating within the capital city. Authorities say the clampdown aims to enforce compliance with land use regulations and boost internally generated revenue.
According to FCTA sources, the sealed properties had been issued multiple warnings before enforcement actions were taken. The administration has urged all defaulters to settle their obligations promptly to avoid similar sanctions.
