Fatal Collision on Lagos-Badagry Road Leaves 10 Dead, Including Children

A late-night accident along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway on Tuesday claimed the lives of 10 people, including three children, when a speeding vehicle collided with a stationary truck. The tragic incident occurred around Abule Osun at about 11 pm.

According to officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the victims were in a Toyota Sienna minivan travelling at high speed when it crashed into a granite-laden truck parked along the road.

“The driver likely did not see the parked truck, which was taking up a significant portion of the carriageway,” LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed.

He added that the impact of the collision led to the instant deaths of 10 passengers, including three children, with three others suffering severe injuries.

Rescue workers from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were quick to respond, transporting the injured to a nearby hospital. The bodies of the deceased, including four women and three men, were later recovered and are awaiting formal evacuation.
