Evangelist allegedly rapes 10-year-old girl after prayer session with family in Edo
Benjamin Uzoma, an evangelist, was docked on Wednesday at the Edo Family Court, Benin for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl.
The evangelist who claimed his innocence, was arraigned on a two count charge bordering on indecent assault and raping the victim.
He was said to have committed the offence at no 6 Oviawe Street, Aduwawa quarters in Ikpoba, in Okha Local Government Area of the state.
Benjamin allegedly removed the victim’s pants forcefully, and laid her down against her will to rape her.
At the hearing, the court was informed that the evangelist committed the offence a day after he held a prayer session for the victim’s family.
The presiding magistrate, J.O Ejale adjourned the case till July 18, for further hearing.
