Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302: black box found as the world mourns victims
A day after the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed six minutes after takeoff, the flight data and cockpit recorder has been recovered.
According to Associated Press, the black box was found partially damaged but investigators will proceed to find retrieve valuable information from it.
A number of airlines across the world, including China Airways, have grounded the Boeing 737 Max 8, the aircraft that went down yesterday. It was the second time the model will crash in six months- India’s Lion Air crashed the same way in October 2018, leading many people to believe the new model 737 has a fundamental issue which has cost these crashes.
All 157 people on board died when it went down just outside of Addis Ababa on a routine flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Among the victims were Nigerian diplomat Abiodun Bashua and Canada based writer and academic, Pius Adesanmi.
