#EndBadGovernance: 6 Polish Students, Lecturer, Freed From Detention, Poland Confirms

The Foreign Ministry of Poland has announced that six of its students and 1 lecturer from the Warsaw University who were detained in Nigeria for allegedly involving in #EndBadGovernance protests, have now been released.

The Ministry made this development known on Wednesday throught its spokesman, Pawel Wronski.

According to Wronski, the Polish nationals were received in sound health and will subsequently return to Poland this week.

He went on to disclose that the Polish nationals had their passports, laptops, and other belongings returned to them upon release.

While awaiting their return trip to Poland, the nationals will remain on their university campus in Kano state, the Ministry disclosed.

Recall that, during the recently concluded August 1-10 nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests across Nigeria, the Department of State Services (DSS) had arrested the six Polish students and their lecturer in Kano State on alleged links to the protests.

This media learnt that the Polish nationals were in the country to participate in a programme of mastering the Hausa language.

They were arrested for allegedly displaying Russian flags during the protests and subsequently detained at a hotel in Kano before their eventual release.
