Ekiti: After surviving crash that killed 6, student gets leg amputated

Six students of the Ekiti State University lost their lives after a car rammed into a commercial bus at the front gate of the school on Monday night.
Eight people were involved in the fatal crash. Two survived. One of them is a female student of the school.
Barely 24 hours after the accident, the right leg of one of the survivors had to be cut off so to save his life a source at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, said.

Governor Ayodele Fayose declared three days of mourning and prayers for those who lost their lives.
“I sympathise with them, it’s unfortunate, it’s not a good news, it is one too many. We are saddened but we have to take solace in God,” the governor said.
“Reckless driving and over-speeding has cost us. I just want to commit them into the hands of God because there is nothing to say for now rather than to pray that God should intervene and console the families and the people of Ekiti.”
Fayose said the accident “is one too many”.
In April, Ekiti doctors were travelling to Abuja to attend a national event when their vehicle crashed. The six doctors and the man driving them died in the crash..
