EFCC Declares Former Bayelsa Governor Timipre Sylva Wanted Over Alleged $14.8m Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a public notice declaring former Bayelsa State governor, Timipre Sylva, wanted over alleged involvement in a $14.8 million fraud case.
According to the anti-graft agency, Sylva, who previously served as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, is being sought in connection with allegations of conspiracy and the unlawful diversion of $14,859,257.

The EFCC urged anyone with relevant information on his whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or the commission directly. The details surrounding the alleged financial misconduct have not yet been fully disclosed, but the case is part of an ongoing investigation into corruption and misappropriation of public funds.
Sylva has not released a public statement responding to the declaration at the time of this report.
