By ignoring intense pressure from the Liberian authorities in 2014, Dr Stella Adadevoh and her team at First Consultant Hospital in Lagos helped Nigeria avert a devastating Ebola virus outbreak. More than 11,000 people in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone died, while Nigeria recorded 20 cases.
