“It’s nonsense”- Donald Trump denies writing Epstein birthday note

U.S. President Donald Trump has again denied authoring a sexually explicit birthday message to Jeffrey Epstein, rejecting claims linking him to the convicted sex offender.

Speaking to reporters in Washington on Tuesday, Trump dismissed the note, which bears his alleged signature, as fake. “It’s not my signature, and it’s not the way I speak. Anybody that has covered me for a long time knows that’s not my language,” he said. “It’s nonsense.”

The White House earlier said it would support a forensic review of the handwriting. “The president did not write this letter. He did not sign this letter,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters.

The message was part of a 238-page scrapbook compiled for Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003, released this week by House Democrats. The so-called “birthday book” also included greetings from Bill Clinton, Apollo Global cofounder Leon Black, and former Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz.

Trump previously denied authorship when The Wall Street Journal first reported on the note in July. He has since sued the paper, seeking at least $20 billion in damages.

The publication has reignited debate over Trump’s past ties to Epstein, who died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Trump has acknowledged knowing Epstein socially in the 1990s and early 2000s but says they had a falling out more than two decades ago.

Epstein’s death has fueled years of conspiracy theories about his links to powerful figures. Many of Trump’s supporters had believed he would expose a cover-up, but law enforcement concluded in July there was no evidence of a client list or blackmail scheme.

Trump has repeatedly denied knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and insists their relationship was limited.
