DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Man stabs student lover to death “over hot food” in Minna

A tragic incident at the Federal University of Technology Minna, Niger State on Monday has thrown students and staff into mourning.

According to Northern City News, a man, identified as Best Origboshe, allegedly stabbed a female postgraduate student in the school, Bolatito Ajuola, to death.

Origboshe is suspected to be Ajuola’s fiancée. He had once worked in a company owned by his victim’s father in Ondo state before he was sacked.

The suspect had moved to Minna on Ajuola’s request after losing his job, reports say.

An argument over a meal on Monday night reportedly led Origboshe to stab Ajuola, a student of Science Education, to death.

Ajuola was said to have prepared a meal, and queried the suspect on his refusal to eat. He reportedly said the food was too hot and an argument ensued.

“During the argument, the man started beating the girl. She rushed to the kitchen and emerged with a knife with which she injured her fiancé. The man afterwards went to a nearby store, where he bought a brand new knife which he allegedly used to stab her in the breast and in the stomach,” a witness is quoted as saying.

A professor in the university reportedly rushed to the victim’s rescue upon hearing her cry.
