Domestic Violence: Man, 37, chains wife to generator overnight in Ogun
A woman was subjected to an unusual form of house arrest in Ogun state when her husband reportedly chained her to a generator overnight.
Ifeanyi Ajaero, 37, reportedly battered his 28-year-old wife, Obiageli Ajaero, before chaining her to a generator set from Friday night till Saturday morning.
The incident reportedly happened at Ewooluwo in the Sagamu area of the state.
The state police PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Ajaero confessed to subjecting his wife to such punishment in “self-defense.”
Oyeyemi added that Ajaero’s neighbours accused him of constantly beating his wife.
The case had been transferred to the Anti- Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the state for further investigation.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, warned residents to desist from indulging in domestic violence.
