Domestic Violence: Husband brutalises wife with chain, forcibly sleeps with her after C-section
A nursing mother has, today, reported a case of domestic violence at the office of the Public Defender, Surulere, Lagos.
A witness at the centre said the woman explained how her husband beats her with chain at the slightest provocation, but her parents have advised that she stays in the marriage.
The woman who went to report the matter at the centre with her daughter and a neighbour also claimed that she was continually raped by her husband despite that her C-section was yet to properly heal.
“She is traumatised,” the witness said, adding that the Public Defender centre was not doing much to assist the victim.
The Domestic & Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) in Lagos has been duly notified.
