Dirty “Baba Ijebu” operator evicted from market for breaking Thursday sanitation “law”
Every Thursday, Lagos traders are expected to keep their shops locked till 10am. Before then, they should clean their surroundings.
Onipanu stall owner, Tunji (not his real name), who runs a small betting business popularly called “Baba Ijebu lotto”, broke the rule today.
It was 8:30am. Market leaders, and other traders, were cleaning their surroundings when they noticed Tunde already opened for business.
A citizen reporter who witnessed the incident and hurriedly took a photo while going to work on Thursday related the gist to NewsroomNG.
“The market leaders were mostly women. They were obviously angry with Tunde,” he said.
“They overturned the trader’s table, folded his umbrella and told him to ‘park well’. One of the women was so angry she told him he’d never be allowed to use the spot again.
“She said he was too dirty to continue doing business at the market,” he said..
