Despite Pressure from APC, PDP, Kwankwaso Won’t Leave NNPP- Galadima

Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), says Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will not defect to any other political party despite growing pressure from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and members of a new opposition coalition.

Galadima disclosed on Friday during an interview on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, amid speculations that Kwankwaso, NNPP’s 2023 presidential candidate, may be on the verge of joining the APC — especially following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as APC national chairman.

Reacting to the rumours, Galadima said, “We will remain in the NNPP strategically until the whistle is blown for politics.”

According to him, the attempts by rival camps only highlight Kwankwaso’s political value and national appeal.

“Our party, the NNPP, is a political party registered under Nigerian law and recognised by INEC,” he said. “We stand where we are. Of course, we’ve seen several reports in the press and on social media — but that only proves that Rabiu Kwankwaso is the politician this country needs and should follow.”

Galadima described Kwankwaso as “a strategic politician” whose decision to remain silent is earning him credibility across political divides.

“He has decided to keep quiet, and yet people are campaigning for him free of charge,” Galadima said. “Every Nigerian needs him. Every political party needs him. Why not support him to become the president of Nigeria so that he can deliver the dividends of democracy?”
