Dasuki: “I never got N240 million from ArmsGate,” Linda Ikeji speaks
Popular Lagos blogger Linda Ikeji said she didn’t receive any N240 million pay out from ArmsGate – the corruption scandal that has taken Nigeria by storm.
Former National Security (NSA) Sambo Dasuki is accused of diverting at least $2 billion of funds meant for fighting Boko Haram into the re-election bid of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Some of the funds were reportedly used to “settle” political figures and buy the mainstream media.
Dudafa Waripamo, a former aide to Jonathan reportedly said a popular Lagos blogger was given N240 million as the last administration tried to win bloggers over.
After the news hit the airwaves, rumours filled everywhere Linda Ikeji, who recently bought a N600 million mansion in Lagos, is the blogger in question.
Linda Ikeji said that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“So people are reacting and some actually believe it,” Ikeji said in a rather cheeky blog post on Monday night.
“That PDP or someone in the party gave me N240m? For what? Advert? This was why I didn’t want to get politics advert money in the first place o…and but then some of you advised that I do when I asked here and now see the gbege that I have entered…lol.
“But seriously for the record…no party registered or unregistered, no human being dead or alive gave me N240m for anything.
“The only advert I did for PDP was a page background take-over for former president Jonathan… and they asked for the space after I did a page background take-over for APC’s Akinwunmi Ambode. (I’m sure you all saw it).
“The two parties paid me same amount. I had a politics advert rate which I sent to everyone who wanted to advertise on LIB! And it was a few millions.”
Ikeji said the rumours are the work of sexists who can’t stand the thought of watching a woman succeed:
Anyway, all these bad belle people looking for ways to bring a woman down…like I always say…you can’t! Except you’re mightier than God!
Not to forget, Dasuki said everything thing he did in the “ArmsGate” or “DasukiGate” was instructed by Jonathan.
…and we await the unveiling of the Lagos blogger who got the N240 million..
