CLOSE! Dana Air plane skids off runway, lands in bush in Port Harcourt
February 20, 2018

A DanaAir aircraft flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt overshot the runway and landed in the bush Tuesday evening.
The aircraft, registration number 5N-SRI, was said to have lost its bearing on the runway as the pilot frantically put a call through to the tower all to no avail.
Passengers aboard the plane recounted the frightening experience but confirmed that no one was physically hurt.
The incident was suspected to have occurred due to heavy rainstorm in Port Harcourt.
Dana Airline was involved in an ill-fated crash that left at least 153 passengers dead in 2012.
Only more recently, one of the airline’s airplane lost its exit door upon landing in Abuja.
Reasons for Tuesday’s incident are yet unknown.
