Cleric, three others arrested with human skull in Ogun
A human skull has been found in possession of an Islamic cleric, Jamiu Olasheu, and three others by the police in Ogun State.
Two suspects had been accosted by the police while transporting the skull to deliver to Olasheu.
Police say the cleric had contracted one Micheal Osanyinbi to deliver the skull for a sum of N25,000.
Spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects were on a motorcycle at Kofedoti area of Agbara when they were apprehended.
“The two men, Teslim Ayeniromo, 45, and Sunday Kolade, 35, were asked to come down for search consequent upon which a human skull was discovered in a sack found on them,” Oyeyemi said.
“They led the DPO to the house of the man who gave them the skull, who in turn led the police to the self-acclaimed cleric.
“The cleric has made a confessional statement that he requested for the skull which Micheal Osanyinbi promised to get for him at the rate of N25,000. He stated further that the skull is needed for a yet to disclose ritual,” he added.
