Cleric hypnotises victims with charms, dupes them of huge sums in Ondo

An Islamic cleric, Oladele Ayuba, is in the custody of NSCDC operatives for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting victims of huge sums of money by hypnotising them.

Ayuba allegedly carries out series of nefarious activities in his shrine at Arigidi-Akoko area of Akoko North West, Ondo State.

It is alleged that the moment victims enter Ayuba’s shrine, they would lose their senses and then be remotely controlled to look for money at all costs.

One of his victims said he usually threatened them against revealing their encounter, lest they pay for it with their lives.

Ayuba is alleged to have duped his victims of huge sum as much as N36m.

He was paraded alongside two other suspects for alleged offences, including obtaining by false pretence, illegal possession of counterfeit money and vandalism of transformer, by the State Command of the NSCDC.

The Corps Commandant said Ayuba was arrested following a complaint by one of his victims, Tajudeen Ekundayo, who lost N4.3m.

The paramount traditional ruler of the town, the Zaki of Arigidi-Akoko, Oba Yisa Olanipekun, is said to have banished the cleric, a Kwara State native, from the community.
