Cleaner allegedly steals N1m, gifts “side chic” more share than wife and kids

A house cleaner, identified as James, landed himself in trouble after he allegedly stole $2,600 (about N1m) from his employer’s bookshelves.
James, according to his employer’s daughter, Sade, was caught after he allegedly ransacked the shelves for the said sum and failed to arrange the books properly after.
He was said to have returned to the house to resume his normal duties with $600 in his pocket.
Sade narrated that upon the cleaner’s arrest, he confessed to have “sent ₦5,000 home to his mother in Aba. His brother, ₦7,000. His friend the washer man, $600 (₦228,000).”
More intriguing, however, was James’ alleged gift of $1000 (₦380,000) to his girlfriend, while his wife and two kids received a paltry ₦35,000 from the alleged loot.
“Luckily, he hadn’t changed it all and $1300 could be recovered, but he refused to give the girlfriend up,” she said.
James was beaten, but eventually let go.
