Christ Embassy pastor “kills self after sending penis photo to church WhatsApp group”
A Christ Embassy pastor reportedly took his own life after allegedly posting an obscene image to the church’s WhatsApp group.
The man, identified as Letsego, reportedly led a branch of the church in Limpopo, South Africa.
“Wife is away, it’s all yours tonight”, Letsego – a married man – was said to have posted to the social media platform alongside a picture of his manhood.
Reports say the pastor thought he was sharing the image with a WhatsApp contact rumoured to be a member of his congregation. After realising his “man thing” was in the open, Letsego reportedly stopped answering his phone which he, according to reports, later switched off.
About 24 hours after the incident, the pastor was reportedly found hanging from a ceiling in his rented church house. He is believed to have taken his own life for fear of shame.
Letsego’s church members were reportedly upset by the image the pastor allegedly shared mistakenly. The pastor was rumoured to be having a “romantic” affair with Miriam – a church member he allegedly called his favourite daughter. Some say he wanted to send the image to the lady.
According to reports, whenever church members questioned the “relationship” between Miriam and Letsego, he would tell them he was a “father” to everyone in the congregation and could “walk among them” as the spirit leads.
Christ Embassy refused to confirm or deny the reports.
“I cannot answer that question”, a South African aide to church general overseer Chris Oyakhilome told NewsroomNG on Friday when asked for comments on the story.
“Since you’re calling from Nigeria, I advise you call the Nigerian office”, she said.
“This line is dedicated to those who want prayers so I cannot answer your question”, she said after we pointed out the suicide reportedly took place in South Africa.
Christ Embassy’s office in Lagos Nigeria did not respond to our calls. The church is also yet to respond to our email query on the reported suicide.
We have not been able to reach Letsego’s wife.
Letsego’s reported suicide, apparently linked to marital infidelity, happened in a church led by a man himself alleged to have had sexual encounters with church members.
Christ Embassy’s general overseer Chris Oyakhilome’s marriage to Anita reportedly crumbled over alleged marital infidelity.
“Anita Oyakhilome would like to confirm that she is no longer involved in or part of Christ Embassy AKA Believers Loveworld inc”, the woman said through her lawyers early 2016 after allegedly accusing Oyakhilome of sleeping around.
Oyakhilome allegedly “confined” Anita to the London branch while he traveled the world with sexy Christ Embassy babes.
