Child Abuse: Man, 22, arraigned for allegedly burning 9-year-old niece with hot pressing iron
A 22-year-old man, John Onuoha was arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly torturing his 9-year-old niece with a hot pressing iron.
Onuoha allegedly placed the pressing iron on his niece’s back and hand after accusing her of stealing his money.
He was said to have committed the crime on December 25 at his residence on 16, Remoye St., Akowonjo Egbeda, Lagos.
The factory worker has been charged with a two-count charge bordering on assault, NAN reports.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted the accused N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till March 6 for mention.
