Chelsea fans gloat, Nigerians prescribe arrest for runway dad of six who returned home wearing Arsenal shirt

The returnee father of multiple twins who fled from his home and heavily pregnant wife is on the receiving end of huge public backlash…and football jokes.

Nigerians have taken to the comments section on a webpage where the story was published to call for the arrest of Mr. Emeka Uche for abandoning a family he vowed to love “for better, for worse.”

The Lagos state government and well-meaning Nigerians had to rise to the help of the wife, Ruth, who recently delivered a set of twins for the third time, after she cried out.

Emeka showed up three months after leaving his expectant wife for God’s knows where…he showed up in an Arsenal FC jersey.

…and some Nigerians are not happy about it.

While some defended him, others prescribed an arrest stating the whole issue was scripted.

…and others, mostly Chelsea fans, threw a few jabs.

Gerald Okoduwa: In an ideal situation, Mr Emeka Uche should be serving a prison term by now for his crime against humanity. This photograph of those beautiful babies speaks volumes. There is glaring evidence that they are your babies. Is marriage no longer for better or for worse?

Reuben Ipinyomi: Mr. Uche might not have rehearsed all this or imagined this new outcome but in order to prevent similar reactions from other families the police should question and award a punishment, say a strong warning (no matter how small) to Mr. Uche for deterrent.

Sekoni Adamu: The u*****s guy na fake Arsenal guy, but a sharp shooter and hit man like we always want in Arsenal. Wish the family all the best but hope the guy will stop acting a prodigal son’s scene again.

Gejmustgo: I don’t believe the man ran away. It was a joint plan between the two to collect some money off Nigerians. I’m sure the man was around all this while.

Carlo: I knew he had to be an Arsenal fan. LOL

Dozie Odoms: I so much admire the efforts of the Lagos state government, journalists in bringing joy and happiness to this family. This is what we expect. But I think it shouldn’t end by just providing them with housing and cash, they should be encouraged to go for a family planning.

Artful Dodger: We must thank the woman too for not being ashamed to let the world know of her predicament because there are so many people in similar situation in the country who have resigned themselves to fate because of the kind of society we live in, a society where everyone is proud and where lives have been ruined by worthless highs.

Etim: Arsenal shame on you. Switch to Chelsea Mr man and become a real man.

Enitan Doherty-Mason: It is unkind to think of jailing a man who is overwhelmed by his inability to push back poverty so that he can stand as a father and husband to his expanded family. Help is what he and his family need not further derision.

“I just knew the dude that vanished after his wife gave birth to their 3rd set of twins had to be an Arsenal fan,” Facebook user Funke Philips said.
