Carrots or Marijuana? Police seize fake carrots stuffed with $500k Marijuana

Actually, it was a mixture of both.

United States border officers have seized $500,000 worth of marijuana stuffed into fake carrots, reports say.

The fake carrots were mixed with real ones as the drug smugglers tried to play a smart one on officials at the U.S.-Mexico border.

They plan would have worked perfectly, but the smell of marijuana plants gave the driver (and the whole plan) away.

Officers in Pharr, Texas, found 2,493 pounds of suspected marijuana concealed within a commercial shipment of fresh carrots entering from Mexico, CNN reports.

About 3,000 carrot-shaped packaages were mixed in with the real carrots.

It isn’t the first time drug peddlars would try this trick though.
