In what can be classified as a classic dramatic twist, Ese Oruru, who was reportedly abducted some eight months ago has said she is not interested in returning home to her family.

Many heaved sighs of relief hours earlier when the news of her release for abduction broke, but it appears the girl does not share their sentiments.

Premium Times reports that the girl denied being abducted from her home in Bayelsa state.

The online news medium claim to have obtained a taped conversation between Oruru and a police interrogator in Kano.

“My name is Aisha Chuwas. I am 17 years old. I came here to be a Muslim and I will stay here,” she’s reported to have said.

A human rights lawyer who was granted audience with the girl said she understood the girl was never forced to convert to Islam.

The lawyer also spoke with Yunusa Yellow, who was accused of abducting the girl.

“I was surprised when I saw a very small boy. He is just 18-year old. I was enraged thinking that it was an old man involved in the saga. From the way I see it, they eloped not because of religion but love,” she said.

We can’t wait to see how this new twist to the story will be sorted..
