Buhari to visit Borno after soldiers’ massacre by Boko Haram
November 26, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari will finally visit Borno where several soldiers have lost their lives in the past week.
A visit to the state has been fixed by the President’s team for Wednesday.
The killing of soldiers in Maiduguri has attracted public outrage, with Buhari being criticised for his ‘silence’.
His media aide, Bashir Ahmad said on Monday that he has been forced to cancel his planned visit to Edo State.
Some soldiers’ claim that they are under-equipped in their fight against the insurgents has still not been duly addressed, as the Army dismissed released videos as “propaganda”.
It is not clear if Buhari will visit the military base to assess the situation of things, or he would hold a meeting with service chiefs in the state.
