Buhari calls Leah Sharibu’s mother, promises to secure her release
President Muhammadu Buhari today called Leah Sharibu’s mother, Rebecca and promised that he would ensure her release from captivity.
The teenager has been held since February 2018, when the insurgents invaded her school in Dapchi, Yobe.
She was held back when her mates regained freedom months after, for refusing to denounce her Christian faith.
Her mother had pleaded with the FG to prevent her from being killed by her captors, after a midwife working with the Red Cross was brutally killed weeks ago.
Buhari said, “Today I spoke with Mrs Rebecca Sharibu, to reiterate our determination to bring her daughter Leah back home safely.
“The thoughts and prayers of all Nigerians are with the Sharibu family, and the families of all those still in captivity. We will do everything we can to bring them back.”
