BREAKING: Lagos govt “summons” UNILAG management for rusticating “innocent” students
University of Lagos (UNILAG) management and the Lagos State government are reportedly in a meeting as we speak.
“The management of the University of Lagos has been summoned by the Lagos State Government on the recent and incessant anti-student policies that have met resistance from conscious students across Nigeria tertiary institutions,” secretary to Save UNILAG Coalition, Sanyaolu Juwon, said on Tuesday.
“The very recent one is the issue of unlawful incarceration of 13 student activists who protested the rustication of a blind student who just got rusticated by the University.
“The Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, and the Prosecutor connived to thwart justice on this case through their concocted lies, in a marriage of interest with the UNILAG Management.
“This rubbish must stop and justice must be done on the case.
“It is also worthy of note to say that the University has also broken a record; that is the UNILAG is the first University in the World to rusticate a graduate.
“We are very gallant and watchful to see how the ‘drama’ would end. The meeting has started!”
We asked UNILAG management to confirm if Sanyaolu’s claims about the said meeting are true. We await their response.
