BREAKING! Boko Haram returns abducted Dapchi schoolgirls

Boko Haram insurgents have on Wednesday morning set free over 100 abducted Dapchi schoolgirls.

The insurgents reportedly arrived the community unarmed and returned with the girls loaded in a truck.

Several reports say at least five of the 110 abducted girls are feared dead.

The head of a group set up to support parents whose children were abducted, Bashir Manzo, confirmed to AFP that the girls have been brought back.

“They were brought in nine vehicles and dropped outside the school at about 8:00 am (0700 GMT),” he said.

The girls were abducted from the Government Girls Science and Technical College on February 19.

The girls’ release comes exactly one week after President Muhammadu Buhari visited the school where they were kidnapped.

It’s still unclear if a ransom was paid by the Federal government for the release of the girls.
