BrandCom Awards: BHM Named PR Agency of the Year

International public relations and communications company, BHM has been awarded Agency of the Year at the just concluded BrandCom Awards.

The event which held in Lagos, on Friday November 27, 2020 was organised to recognise and reward exceptional agencies, brands and individuals in the marketing and communications industry in Nigeria.

According to the Convener of Brandcom Awards and Publisher of Brand Communicator, Joshua Ajayi, the selection was based on the exploits and achievements of the agency and the impact made on the industry. Ajayi highlighted that a number of brands, agencies and individuals have been able to weather the storm and make meaningful impacts in their various fields and as such they deserve to be celebrated.

Known for innovative Public Relations and creative communication campaigns, BHM has in the past won several awards including the Agency of the Year and The Best Agency to Work in 2017 by NIPR Lagos Chapter, The Best Agency Using New Media in 2018 by NIPR Lagos Chapter, Public Relations Agency of the Year at the Brandcom Awards 2018, The Best Agency Using New Media in 2018 from NIPR Lagos Chapter and the award for Innovation in PR Practice from NIPR Lagos Chapter in 2019.

Receiving the award on behalf of BHM were Omolade Opanuga, Corporate Relations Manager, BHM, Enitan Kehinde, Lead Consultant, FMCG, BHM, and Njideka Akabogu, Lead Adviser, ID Africa.

Speaking on the award, founder and CEO, BHMG, Ayeni Adekunle said, “The team at BHM work with our clients and partners to develop the most effective and creative solutions and stories and it is because of this hard work and dedication that we can get recognitions like this. It is a privilege to continue to do the work that we do even at a time like this and for this, we’re beyond grateful.”

In 2016, BHM launched the nation’s first-ever PR Report – the only annual report detailing development, collating data, monitoring trends, perceptions, challenges and prospects in the Public Relations industry in Africa’s biggest market.

The agency has championed several other ecosystem shaping ideas like the nationwide “PR is Dead” campaign, the recognition of November 22, as the Global Day of Influence, July 16 as World Public Relations Day and The Concept of virality – a research report compiled by the company’s Research & Intelligence team. The report analyzes the relationship between trends, social networking platforms and user-generated content.

Also, in November 2017 and 2019, BHM in partnership with ID Africa and Plaqad, trained over 70 journalists and bloggers at Social4Media Masterclass, a free training event facilitated by content and marketing experts such as Ali Baba, M.I Abaga, Frank Donga and Tosin Ajibade of Olorisupergal to name a few.
