Borno State government donates N10million to slain Nigerian soldier’s family

The family of the recently killed Nigerian soldier, Lt. Col. Abu Ali have been awarded a sum of N10million by the Borno State Government.

Governor Kashim Shettima reportedly made the donation when he visited the widow of the deceased in Kaduna.

Special Adviser to Shettima on Communication and Strategy, Malam Isa Gusau, made the development known through a statement issued in Maiduguri on Saturday.

According to the statement, the Borno State governor presented a N10million cheque to Samira, widow of the late soldier who was killed by Boko Haram terrorists at Malam-fatori, headquarters of Abadam local government area of Borno on November 4.

Shettima, in the statement, described the late officer as a hero who sacrificed his life for peace to reign not only in Borno but in the entire North East and the country at large.

On his visit of the family, the governor prayed for the repose of Ali’s soul and also took time to interact with the fallen soldier’s mother, as well as his children, assuring them that the deceased’s sacrifices would not be in vain.
