Boko Haram: Soldiers “shoot at Nigerians, kill woman” after deadly mosque blast
No less than 27 people were killed after suspected Boko Haram terrorists detonated a bomb at a mosque in Yola as Muslims observed jumat prayers, Friday.
The Yola attack occurred 10 hours after a similar explosion at a mosque in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, killed 18 persons and injured at least 20 others.
At least one of the Borno victims whose bodies were deposited at a local morgue did not die from the terror attack. She was shot dead by Nigerian soldiers, an eyewitness has alleged.
“The soldiers did not help the matter at all,” an unnamed witness told TVC News on Friday.
“When they came here, they just started shooting at people. I repeat, the soldiers were shooting at people.
“They killed one woman. I saw it with my own eyes. When I went to the morgue, I saw her body with my own eyes.”

If the claims are true, it will be another low for the Nigerian army which has been accused of serially violating human rights in its bid to arrest the terrorism that is ravaging Nigeria’s northeast.
The American government, which keeps promising to help Nigeria prosecute this war, says it cannot deploy it own troops and critical weaponry to the battlefield due to these allegation of human rights violations.
The Americans say they are handicapped by a certain pro-human-rights Leahy Law which President Muhammadu Buhari seemed to criticised during his first visit to Washington.
The Yola and Borno attacks are believe to have been carried out by Boko Haram terrorists who want to established an Islamic Caliphate in Nigeria.
The group has also pledged alliance to the ruthless “Islamic State” or ISIS.
Prominent Islamic voices say Boko Haram terrorists are not true Muslims.
This article has been updated to correct a mixup. We reported earlier that the alleged soldier attack on civilians took place in Yola. It happend in Borno.
