The Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) is not going back on its decision to declare May 30 a public holiday to mark its independence day.
According to IPOB, international organisations and monitoring bodies will be in the country to observe activities.
IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful also added that Biafra is a non violent group that follows the laid down rules of the United Nations Charter for the rights of the indigenous people.
He also advised Biafrans both home and abroad to observe the remembrance day celebration of “our fallen heroes and heroines who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our people to live today in Nigeria”.
