Benue: Man allegedly impregnates sister, commits suicide
A young man identified Inalegwu reportedly committed suicide in Adoka, Otukpo community in Benue State after indulging in an incestuous act.
Inalegwu had allegedly slept with his younger sister, Ene and impregnated her, reports say. He was being mocked and shamed for the act.
The man, said to be in his 20s, seemed to have had enough of the mocking when he allegedly drank poisonous substance suspected to be insecticide on Monday.
A source is quoted as saying, “He was accused of impregnating his own blood sister. People have been mocking him since the incident happened and he has been crying.”
Inalegwu neither denied nor accepted responsibility of his his sister’s pregnancy. He was said to have been adamant that he owed nobody any explanations over what transpired between him and his sister.
