Benin: Man sentenced to 18-month imprisonment for stealing N35k stabilizer

One Blessing Obazuwa has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for stealing a 500KVA stabilizer.
Obazuwa, appearing before an Evboriaria Magistrates’ Court in Benin on Wednesday admitted to stealing the item.
The 40-year-old who recently finished serving a two-year jail term was promptly sentenced to 18 months imprisonment by the presiding Magistrate, Mrs Esther Aimofumhe.
She however offered the convict an option of N100,000.
The stabilizer is said to be worth N35,000.
Obazuwa was found at the residence of one Mr David Osaghe where he stole the stabilizer attached to the borehole, the court heard.
He confessed to the crime immediately after his arrest..
