Lebanon Prime Minister Tammam Salam declared Friday a national day of mourning after twin suicide blasts killed at least 42 people in Beirut.

Two suicide bombers, Thursday, attacked the southern suburb of Burj el-Barajneh, a stronghold of the Hezbollah Movement.

The bombers arrived on motorbikes within five minutes of each other and detonated their bombs near a Shia shrine.

A third man was reported killed before he could detonate his own suicide vest, Al-Jazeera reports.

A would-be fourth bomber was arrested, Al Jadeed News reports.

The Islamic State, so called, claimed responsibility for the attack which left at least 200 injured.

The terrorist “state’s” claim has not been verified, authorities figures say. Some say the bombings could be ISIS way of getting back at Lebanon for openly supporting Syria.
