BAYELSA: Father poisons three children after prophet’s vision that they were bewitched
Samuel Sunday Otasi’s faith in his pastor’s words have landed him in trouble in Bayelsa.
The 42-year-old has been reported to have killed two of his children following a ‘vision’ that they were evil wizards.
Reports say after a September 2018 ‘revelation’ by Prophet Goerge Odoko of George Odoko Outreach Ministries based in Yenogoa that Otasi’s sons – Success, Miracle and Godstime – were bewitched by their mother and responsible for his sickness, he began to constantly maltreat them.
Family members reportedly joined in the maltreatment as they blamed Otasi’s estranged wife of bewitching the children – 14, 12 and 10 respectively.
The maltreatment of the children came to a head when he allegedly fed them with sniper on December 29 – three days before New Year.
Otasi was said to have committed the crime with his brother, Preye Ayah. They allegedly led the children to a bush along Glory Land Drive, Igbogene, where they tied them to a tree and forced the poisonous liquid down their throat.
Success, according to New Telegraph, however, managed to wriggle his way out of the bondage and crawled to the main road where he was rescued after being found unconscious on new year’s eve.
He would then narrate, after regaining consciousness on Tuesday morning, his ordeal to the police.
A search party later discovered the decomposing bodies of Miracle and Godstime in the bush where their father left them to die.
