Army lose one soldier, kill four Boko Haram insurgents in Borno
Army troops on Sunday successfully neutralised four Boko Haram insurgents who attempted to infiltrate Maibukarti village along Maiduguri-Damboa road.
The 5pm attack was thwarted by the troops who further chased the fleeing terrorists and recovered some of their weapons.
The Army, through its spokesperson Sani Usman, said one soldier was however killed in the attack.
Usman said four AK-47 rifles, 45 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, five AK-47 rifrles magazine, two motorcycles and one bicycle were recovered from the insurgents.
They also recovered other items such as one Bandolier, one GSM handset, three SIM cards, an earpiece, some phone accessories, kolanuts, gloves and drugs.
A similar attack by the rampaging terrorists was thwarted by the troops at Gudumbali in Borno State, on Friday.
