Man, 45, to undergo psychiatric assessment for allegedly killing wife and 16-month-old daughter
In Mpape, Abuja, a 45-year-old man, Dominic Ogah, is to undergo a psychiatric assessment after it was alleged that he killed his wife, Omagun, and their 16-month-old daughter, Blessing.
The police could not fathom the reasons why he killed his wife and daughter after they interrogated him. The stabbed bodies of his wife and daughter were found in a primary school, a few meters from their residence in Mpape in October, 2016.
Police sources said detectives were working on the theory that an outsider could not have killed the victims and then dump their corpses in a public place.

In an interview with Northern City News, Abuja, the suspect could not give a valid explanation about the death of his wife and daughter; he merely stared into space when he was questioned.
A police officer, who is familiar with the investigation, revealed that, “The suspect’s sister informed us that Ogah committed a similar crime when he was living in Ibadan sometime ago. She explained that he was taken to a psychiatric hospital after the incident and when they felt he had recovered, he was released. So, we may have to take him to a psychiatric hospital to know his mental state.”
